Endorsements

General requirements for endorsement in Oklahoma are listed below.

  • Complete application with fees
    • $85.00 application fee
    • $10.00 for temporary license
    • Application fee is $125 for foreign applicants. $85 for endorsement + $40 Education Equivalence Evaluation.

  • Proof of lawful presence in the US
  • Proof of graduation from an approved program located in the US or in a US territory. Curriculum must include:
    • Adult care
    • Child care
    • Maternal and newborn nursing
    • Nursing for psychiatric and mental health
  • Generally, a passing NCLEX score is required; however, for further exam information, see the Oklahoma Nursing Board exam information.

  • Your original state of licensure must send verification of your license and proof of graduation. If they cannot prove your graduation, your school will need to send an original transcript to the Board. Visit the Nursys license verification system to see if your state participates in www.nursys.com, an online system for license verification.

  • Proof of continuing education and experience
  • Criminal Background Check
    • If you have an Oklahoma mailing address you will need to go to an IdentGo center. To schedule an appointment, visit IdentGo appointment scheduling to do it.
    • If you have an out-of-state mailing address you will receive coded fingerprint cards in the mail. You will be responsible for any incurred costs associated with fingerprinting.

In-person training

Blended class Classroom
Format This is a personalized and adaptive class completed online with a computer. After the class you will schedule with an instructor to complete the hands-on portion of the class. This is a traditional classroom class with an instructor.
Course completion Complete the online portion + hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor. Contact a Training Center in your area to sign up for an instructor-led class, see above
Time The online portion of HeartCode BLS can be completed in approximately 1 to 2 hours. Time to complete the hands-on skills session varies around approximately 60 minutes, depending on your experience level. A full BLS provider course can take 4.5 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing.
