AAP guidelines issued alongside the 8th Edition NRP require " all students to pass all 11 lessons of the online exam."
The 11 lessons of the 8th Edition NRP curriculum:
- Foundations of newborn resuscitation
- Preparing for resuscitation
- Initial steps of newborn care
- Positive-pressure ventilation
- Alternative airways: Endotracheal tubes and laryngeal masks
- Chest compressions
- Medication
- Post-resuscitation care
- Resuscitation and stabilization of babies born preterm
- Special considerations
- Ethics and care at the end of life
