Sep 20, 2018 --Wendy Martinez 35, will never realized her altar date with her boyfriend. Wendy was stabbed dead by a man while she was jogging around Logan Circle just one mile away from the White House. Customers at a restaurant where Wendy stopped after the incident tried to help her and a nurse even performed CPR. Unfortunately, she never regained consciousness and later died in a hospital. Wendy's mom said her daughter already bought a gown for her December wedding not expecting that the gown will be worn in her own funeral instead.
Jul 9, 2018 --A grandmother's fun trip to Washington D.C. to watch her granddaughter in an Independence Day parade turned into a nightmare. Linda Leith travelled all the way from Wisconsin and was excited to watch grandaughter Shannon perform in her high school band. However, she suddenly collapsed while walking along Arlington Cemetery. Michelle, together with a fellow parent Tom, immediately performed CPR on her mother and for 6 suspenseful minutes, two nurses administered compressions and rescue breaths as well until the victim was finally revived. That was the longest 6 minutes in Linda's life. She was thankful to her family and to Tom who were all at the right place at the right time.
Jul 28, 2016 --An unidentified young man was pulled from the Lewis river by several bystanders, assuming that he was underwater for several minutes and with no pulse, they began doing CPR maneuvers while calling for 911, the ambulance arrived to take the revived man to the medical center. “This could have been a tragedy and we’re really grateful when good citizens step up and do CPR like this” said the Clark County Fire and Rescue chief Tim Dawdy.
